9 Months Old!

Ainsley just turned 9 months old on the 4th. She is growing up so fast. She is a proficient crawler now and is starting to get more and more curious about "no no" objects around the house! Last week Ainsley also survived getting 4 new teeth at once, a popped right ear drum with ear infection and head cold. The poor thing had a rough couple of days, but she is getting back to normal again! She loves making an "O" shape with her mouth and say "oooooohhh" and thinks this is fun to do to get our attention. She does that too when she gets excited to see one of us or Lucy, our cat. She also now is saying momma repeatedly although I still don't think she knows what it means. Still cute though!

The house construction is almost complete as well---about three more weeks and I think we will be moving in. I put a few of the most recent pics here as well and will post a few more once I get up there with the camera this weekend. It is exciting, but we'll be glad when it is all completed!!

Trying to eat the camera......

This was last week when she was just miserable getting new teeth on top of an ear infection and a cold. All she wanted to do was cuddle with her teddy bear on Daddy's chest. She was such a pathetic sight, but very cute.

Cashed out in the jogging stroller at the end of an early Saturday morning run.

Ainsley decided it was fun one day to try to spit and make noise with her lips. She did that all the time for about 2-3 days and then stopped when she discovered how to say "ooohhh!" at various pitches.

House Piccs: The tiger wood floors in the new house. This diamond pattern is right in the entry way and turned out really cool.

Stay tuned for a few more updated house pictures.....

And She's Off!!!

She will crawl across the room to get that bear. She is not very speedy yet, but it is still very cute.

She's Crawling!

It has been a little while since I updated the blog! The Proud family has been quite in the last few weeks! Ainsley has been keeping us quite busy of course in addition to the house construction and work. She is growing up so fast! As you can tell by the title of the post, she's on the move! For the last week she has been trying really hard to crawl and finally Friday she did it! Nick was the first one to see it--I was in Chicago on a girls' trip, but no worries, she has been practicing since the minute she figured it out! It was impressive to see how over the last 1-2 weeks she has gone from just getting up on her hands and knees to rocking back and forth to sort of scooting to finally crawling. Ainsley is also very vocal these days and babbling all the time. She will now say ahhh when eating probably because when she first started solids and wouldn't open her mouth I would say Ahhhhh and open mine really big. Now if she sees me eating something she will open her mouth and say ahhh.
She is trying some new foods like Yo Baby yogurt, bits of cheese, tiny pieces of chicken, noodles, crackers, Cheerios, of course she still LOVES the Gerber Puffs :) Tofu and avacado are next on the list, but want to give her a chance to like the yogurt! She's not so sure.......
The last week has been rough on her---she has a double ear infection on top of a cold and her top front teeth are also coming in---all at once! The poor thing. She hasn't been the most fun at times but who can blame her with all that going on! When she is in a good mood she's as fun as ever though. In addition to crawling she has also found a new toy---paint swatches!! She is entertained for quite some time playing in my pile of colors. I was about ready to just choose the color she chewed on the most :)
Progress is coming along on the house---all of the interior is painted now. Phew! We worked hard to get it done before any flooring or trim went in so it went pretty quickly. I will credit Nick with most of the work but we also had help from friends and family too. There is something to be said for putting a little sweat into your house! I have included some pictures, but haven't taken pics of all the painted rooms since all the painting was finished. We are anxious to get the stone work done on the front of the house!
Here are several pics from the last few weeks. Enjoy!
Ainsley loves this teddy bear and was having a great time playing with it and looked cute in her fres so I decided it was a good time to take pictures!

Here she is again playing with the bear......

Playing in her jumper while we cook dinner.

Playing on the floor with Daddy. Awwwwww.

Showing off those teeth!

Nick put this "crown" on her when they were playing one morning.

Ainsley's other favorite thing to do is clapping her hands and she mimicks this if we clap our hands for her when she does something good. She's playing in the paint swatches. For some reason she thinks they are great!
I got a bedding set shipped to me that came in a huge box full of packing peanuts so I thought I should take a picture of my peanut in the peanuts!! She didn't know WHAT to do when she was sitting in all of them. She thought about eating one as you can see above, but didn't put it in her mouth (surprisingly since she puts everything in her mouth) and then decided she didn't like them so started to fuss! I managed to get a couple of pics before the fuss face! Then you'll see she's in the peanuts again after I got her dressed for the day. She didn't really like them much better the second time. I think she didn't like the feeling of sinking in to them. She wasn't sure what to think about that! She just raised her arms up for me to pick her up!

All smiles!

This is just proof on film that Ainsley was not feeling well last week with the ear infection and then teething. There were times that all she wanted to do was cuddle with mom. She was pretty miserable for a couple of days. It's hard being little.

This was taken standing in our dining room. I spent some quality time painting it "La Fonda Olive" in the evening after I spent the day at home with a sick baby :( It looks darker in this picture than it is, but the color turned out exactly how I wanted it!

Looking in to kitchen from family room......slowly but surely it's taking shape. We should have flooring soon!
